Hi. I am a composer, lecturer, and shakuhachi performer. I hold a Ph.D. from the University of Hawaiʻi, and specialize in intercultural composition. I often incorporate traditional instruments from East and Southeast Asia in my work.

My concert music has been workshopped, preformed, and/or commissioned by the Dolce Hogaku Ensemble, Pro Musica Nipponia, Kyo-Shin Arts, the Contemporary Gugak Orchestra (select members), Chinese Music Virtuosi, Yang Jing, Christopher Yomei Blasdel, Eighth Blackbird, the Momenta String Quartet, and the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra.

I create media music, particularly music for video games and film. I teach a course I developed on composing non-linear adaptive music for video games, as well as a course on composing for animated film.

I am also interested in analog horror, alternate reality games, liminal spaces, and those types of unsettling things :)
